The siesta, 1911, Joaquín Sorolla (1863-1923). Family leisure moments frequently appear reflected in Sorolla´s painting. Some paintings related to this thematic line constitute true milestones in his entire artistic production. To a large extent, this scope responds to the expressive freedom that Sorolla allows himself in this type of painting, conceived almost expressly as his own works, canvases not intended for the market but intended to be part of the decoration of his home, therefore integrated into the of his family intimacy.
