Carillon Tower War Memorial, Queens Park, Loughborough, Leicestershire. Designed by Sir William Tapper and built by William and Morris and Sons, the 151 ft high tower was erected in memory of those that fell in the 1914-18 First World War and opened in July 1923. Further inscriptions were added to the fallen following the 2nd World War. The base is built of Portland Stone, the Tower of red bricks from Tucker and Sons of Loughborough, and the turret and balcony are oak encased in copper. The tower houses 47 bells from the famous John Taylor bell foundry in Loughborough.
