Drought Resistant Flowers and Plants in the Dry Garden at RHS Hyde Hall
The Dry Garden at RHS Hyde Hall Gardens in Essex, UK. One of the driest parts of England this expanse of garden survives on natural rainfall, there is no watering. The plants are those adapted to survive in dry conditions and are at the height of their flowering season in mid-summer. At the top of the picture are examples of Verbascum olympian, in the centre Eschscholzia californica, commonly known as Californian Poppy and in the foreground Salvia nemorosa lubecca
