For a month heheld the superintendency of bothstreet and sewer repairs prior to theappointment of David J. McCoy asSuperintendent of Street Repairs. AsSuperintendent of Sewer Repairs,Mr. Linehan has charge of a force of108 men and directs the maintenance of 400 miles of city sewers. Fieis married and has four children, two boys and two girls, and is amember of Bricklayers Union, No. Department of Public \\orks J JOSEPH BELLETBureau of Public Buildings OSEPH BELLET, Director ofthe Janitorial Service of the cityand a member of the department forthirteen rears, is a native son ofCalifornia, born May 10, 1869. Hismother, Mrs. ^Marcella Bellet, stilllives in the old family home in Lom-bard street. Educated in the public schools,including- the historic ^^ashingtonGrammar, he became a theatricalmechanic, and in Februar}-, 1901, em-barked upon his long service for thecity. As director of the large force ofmen engaged in the proper mainten-ance and care of public buildingsthroughout the city his work hasbeen performed in a conscientiousand efficient manner that has wonthe commendation and respect of the city authorities. He was mar-ried in 1897 to ^liss Emma A\erner and they reside at 1270 Twenty-first avenue, Sunset District. Mr. Bellet is a member of the The-atrical Mechanics Association, a charter member of the NationalAllia
