Natural Birth. A woman in the final stages of a natural home birth, with the head & arms of her baby seen emerging. The woman's partner is seen supporting her, and the gloved hands of a midwife gently cradle the baby's body as it emerges. Natural childbirth involves the avoidance of unnecessary medical intervention during birth. This means that relaxation techniques are used to cope with pain, minimising the use of drugs during labour. Couples attend classes some months before the birth to learn these techniques.
