GULF OF OMAN (Dec. 17, 2018) Quartermaster 3rd Class Tresean Phillips stands watch aboard Cyclone-class coastal patrol ship USS Thunderbolt (PC 12) during a maritime patrol in the Gulf of Oman. Thunderbolt is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian ocean and the three strategic choke points.
