Pueblo Pintado is an Anasazi ruin in Chaco Canyon in northern New Mexico. It was built in 1060-1061 by ancestors of today's Pueblo Indians. Like all of the Chaco "Great Houses", it was connected to the main part of Chaco Canyon by a vast road system. It is thought that the Chaco Culture collapsed because of drought and over-use of farm land. Today's Rio Grande Pueblo people farm with irrigation systems from major rivers, and work in town jobs or those provided by the tribe.
