Boies); "formerly nested in Monroe County, not seen since 1881" (Jerome Trombley); May to October; breeds; nests in May and .June in bushes; eggs four; song varied and beautiful; " ven- triloquist *" (Butler's Birds of Indiana); "this is a southern species" (Prof. J. A. Allen).
