St Curig's Church in Capel Curig Mid Wales

A clas (Celtic monastery), was founded on this site by Curig (Cyriac) some time before 550. After 1180 the church came under the care of Cistercians from Strata Florida Abbey, who rebuilt most of the building, adding the tower around 1350. Sir George Gilbert Scott and Arthur Baker restored it in 1878.
