PLASMODIUM OVALE MALARIA
This thin film shows an immature schizont of the parasite P. ovale along with four chromatin masses, and rounded RBCs. Two species of malarial parasites, P. vivax and P. ovale, can cause relapsing illness in humans. These parasites can rest in the liver for several months up to four years after a person has been bitten by an infected mosquito.
