I think this the best eating melon I ever tasted, and tins seems to be the general opinion of all who have eaten of them. I took some to our Pair, where there were much larger and better looking ones than mine, but when the judges came around and tested their quality they unhesitatingly gave mine the first premium. The melons are quite tender and thin shelled, and will not bear rough handling, but they proved to be first rate keepers notwithstanding ; I kept lots of them nearly two months after picking. The vines seem to be more productive than any othei Variety I have tried.
