Heligoland trap situated in Nant plantation, NW slope of Mynydd Enlli, used by Bardsey Bird & Field Observatory to record & monitor birds. Humanely captured birds can be safely recorded, studied, ringed or tagged before being released unharmed. The bird observatory at Cristin was first founded in 1953. Artist & writer Brenda Chamberlain lived on Bardsey 1947-61, mainly in Carreg farmhouse; she described her experiences in the book Tide-race published in 1962.
