For the first time ever, in 2008 visitors to Buckingham Palace were able to experience the spectacle of the Ballroom set up for a state Banquet. Held in the honour of a visiting heads of state the Queen entertains around 170 guests. The Ballroom is the largest room in the palace and is also used for investitures and other formal occasions.
