In 1868 hecame to Omaha of this State, and remained oneyear, then went to Saunders County and pre-emptedeighty acres of laud and remained upon it one year,and then came to Lancaster County. After someprospecting he homesteaded eight}- acres of land inRock Creek, which has since been extended, untilto-day he possesses there quite a large estate. In1873 a new farm of ICO acres of land was purchasedfrom the Burlington & Missouri River RailroadCompany, at §6 per acre, situated on section
