Installation and labeling of tlie shark case were brought to a conclusion duringMay. The exhibit now comprises models of two species of Long Island sharks,a cast of a tropical nurse shark, the jaws and teeth of several species, and threeof Mr. Tschudys drawings. A gigantic lobster, 38 inches in length, has been purchased through the kind-ness of Director Townsend, of the Aquarium. It is now being mounted forexhibition in the invertebrate Mammoth Radishes Grown in the War Garden Plot of a Member of the Museum Staff 169 During the third week in May, the American Association of Museums held itsannual convention in Greater New York. The sessions were attended by severalmembers of the Brooklyn Museums staff. On the afternoon of May 24, themembers of the Association, together with members of the Brooklyn Museum andtheir friends, took part in an inspection of the Department of Natural Science,including the rearranged Long Island Bird Room, the Desert Life Group, andother newly constructed exhibits. A coLation was served in the Long IslandBird Room, after which the guests repaired to the Auditorium, where the motionpicture, How Life Begins, a story of the methods by which new plants andanimals come into existence, was shown. The keenest interest in the departments exhibits, methods of preparation,mechanical devices, arrangement, lighting effects, etc., was shown by all of thevisiting Museum officer
