This 1884 illustration shows the bust of the Empress Salonina that is housed in the Capitoline Museum in Rome. She was an Augusta of the Roman Empire, married to Roman Emperor Gallienus and mother of Valerian II, Saloninus, and Marinianus. She died 268 AD. Augusta was a Roman imperial honorific title given to empresses and honoured women of the imperial families.
