HISTORY Lawrence is one of the oldest colleges in the Northwest,having been founded in 1847 by Amos A. Lawrence of Boston,Mass. It was established to lift the standards of education,elevate the tone of morals, and provide opportunities for ad-vanced education in a section of our country that stands muchin need of it.
