Marine bacteria in cancer research. Researcher Jean Guezennec preparing electron microscopy samples of the polymers produced by marine bacteria. He is studying them for possible anti-cancer properties. These bacteria are found at great depths in and around hydrothermal vents. This work is being carried out at a centre operated by the French oceanographic research institution Ifremer.
