Fallen chalice vine flowers on a bridge. The chalice vine, or cup of gold, (Solandra maxima) is a tropical climbing plant. The flowers are between 15 and 25 centimetres long and measure 10 to 17 centimetres in diameter. S. maxima is native to Mexico, Central America and northern South America.
