Sidney Stringer Academy, Coventry, Coventry, United Kingdom. Architect: Sheppard Robson , 2012. Informal seating in school corri

The 14,788 sq m Sidney Stringer Academy in Coventry was completed in 2012, providing accommodation for 1050 11-16 year old students and 300 post-16 year old students. Robothams worked with Sheppard Robson to design the new campus in the city's Hillfields district, the project continues its regeneration after the construction of the nearby City College. The architect Sheppard Robson’s response, as part of a wider masterplan, provides a contemporary public, civic and private academy on a constrained site; enhancing the surrounding public realm and optimising the provision of external space. The split-site Academy is located on opposite sides of Primrose Hill Street. On the northern side, the Enterprise and Innovation Centre will have an emphasis on vocational learning for post-14 year old students, to be completed by Robothams architects.
