Braeriach and the Lairig Grhu in the Cairngorm National Park looking across Strathspey and Glenmore from Avielochan, near Aviemore. A blanket of very late snow covers the Grampian Mountains in mid April 2008. The skiing season on Cairngorm is usually over by Easter, but these conditions make for wonderful skiing in the brilliant spring sunshine.
