A ROBOT has become the world’s first at performing surgery on a LION. When eight-year old lion Leonardo went under the knife to remove an adrenal tumour, few could have imagined he would be walking around like normal in just three hours. The medical team, led by head of the Anaesthesia Operative Unit at Lodi Veterinary Hospital, Giuliano Ravasio, used a Telelap ALF-X surgical robot to perform the pioneering surgery.
