Threatened in Massachusetts and Ohio. NOTES: Previous reports of Carex glaucodea from Ontario were based on misidentifications. Although this sedge may be confused with C. amphibola Steud. and C. granulans Muhl. ex Willd., it can be distinguised from them by its relatively densely- flowered spikes (20 to 25 perigynia); red-dotted, small, beakless perigynia; awnless or short-awned pistillate scales; thick glaucous foliage; and more or less red-dotted sheaths. HABITAT: Forêts de chênes claires et prés dégagés d'aubépine sur sol argileux. SITUATION: Rare au Canada. Menacée au Massachusetts et en Ohio. REMARQUES: Les observations antérieures de Carex glaucodea en Ontario sont attribuables à une erreur d'identification. Bien que l'espèce puisse être confondue avec C. amphibola Steud. et C. granulans Muhl. ex Willd., elle s'en distingue par des épillets de fleurs relativement denses (20 à 25 périgynes); de petits périgynes sans bec ponctués de rouge; des écailles pistillées sans barbe ou à barbe courte; un feuillage glauque bien fourni; ainsi que des gaines plus ou moins ponctuées de rouge.
