As a citizen he is popularwith all classes, believing that religion is amatter of conscience and therefore not to beinterfered with; that politics is a matter ofprinciple upon which the wisest may differ,holding firmly to his own political belief as anunswerving Democrat, and being a valuedmember of his political party.
