The Lofoten Aquarium perched on the rocky shore of Kabelvåg, Storvågan, on Austvågøya Island in the Lofoten archipelago, Nordland, Norway.
At the Lofoten Aquarium you can learn about the Lofoten cod, also known as skrei: The east Atlantic cod which every winter migrate from the Barents Sea to Lofoten to spawn. Skrei is the foundation for the Lofoten fishery and has for centuries been one of the most important fishes in Europe.
