With the capitulation went the entire Territoryof Michigan ; the town and port of Detroit, which practicallycommanded the whole of western Canada; the Adams war brig;many stands of arms, a large quantity of much-needed stores, thirty-three pieces of cannon and the military chest. It had been a bold, aventuresome action on the part of Brock, and the result affectedalmost the entire struggle. It inspirited the militia from end to endof the Provinces ; it showed many of those having disloyal tendenciesthat it might be safer to at least appear loyal ; it electrified the masseswith vigour and fresh CO >>o tfl O o CO
