Absolute Humidity. Expressing the humidity in the terms of the actual weight of the watervapor in the atmosphere at different hours of the day throughout theyear, the distribution is shown in the following table. These figuresshow the average amount of water present in the atmosphere at the hoursspecified during the five years from August, 1881, to July, 1886. Asthe amount of moisture in the atmosphere is primarily a function ofthe temperature of the air, we find a steady increase in the absolute.
