This stone is taken out of a toad's head, and is cleansed in the same head and in strong. wine and water, and sometime the shape of a toad seemeth therein with sharp feet and broad. This stone helpeth against biting of serpents and of creeping worms, and against venom,—for in presence of venom the stone warmeth and burneth his fingers that toucheth him.
