Bluebells carpet the woodland floor as low early morning sun filters through the ancient trees of Everdon Stubbs near Daventry in Northamptonshire. The woodland contains a mix of common and sessile oak as well as lowland birch and areas of sweet chestnut and sycamore. Everdon Stubbs gets its name from the traditional practice of coppicing and the site is documented as far back as the 10th century. It is a SSSI and cared for by the Woodland Trust
