Due to the loss of business resulting from the COVID-19 Coronavirus lockdown easyJet announced plans to close their airport bases at Newcastle, Stansted and London Southend. Although some flights may still serve these airports removing their base operations would mean the loss of 1290 jobs. Numbers of easyJet planes are in storage at Southend
