The beach, which is considered a local touristic point, has been closed due to under construction and decontamination process for 6 years since 2011 Tsunami-earthquake disaster and its aftermath. Soma city is planning to finish the process of reconstruction and decontamination in order to reopen the beach for tourists from 2018 onward.
