Strip machine side with oval fields and green ribbon along the top, Natural color machine side strip: machine Parisian side. The repeating pattern consists of more or less oval fields along the underside of the strip that are some distance apart. From each oval a branch rises on one side, which goes with a bow to the next oval and thus forms a closed field. Above this border with fields there is a row of loose leaf branches in the mechanical Parisian soil, always with a mule next to it. Finer ornamental grounds were used in the fields than the Paris soil at the top of the strip. A green ribbon
