The Mars lander InSight Probe is positioned atop a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket at the Vandenberg Air Force Base Space Launch Complex 3 April 23, 2018 in Lompoc, California. The Insight which stands for Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport, will be the first mission to look deep beneath the Martian surface and is scheduled for liftoff May 5, 2018.
