May Day Bank Holiday weekend of decorated bikes and barrows in the picturesque village of Scorton, near Lancaster. Thousands of people are expected to visit Scorton to join in events and see lots of decorated bicycles and wheelbarrows throughout the village. Last year there were nearly a hundred on display with the raising vital funds for projects that will maintain the fabric of village life and preserve its identity and charm. “This likeable quirky annual festival raises vital funds for village groups and community projects and is action packed with events and activities to suit everyone - families, cyclists, runners, walkers and visitors wanting to enjoy a day out. Many new people are expected to ne introduced to Scorton, gateway to the Forest of Bowland, as a result of this popular Festival. The event is put together by a small committee and a large number of local folk donating their time and skills! The organisers have been delighted by the response to the Festival and the feedback received so far about its quirky appeal for day-trippers and local residents alike.”
