Zodiac, the peacock, the fish, the goat, the vine,Daniel, Jonas, David and Goliath, and hundreds ofScandinavian dragons, eagles, dogs, and sea ser-pents; all of which evidently affected later Gothicart, as shown in the gargoyles, monsters, and gro-tesques in the cathedrals of the thirteenth, fourteenth,and fifteenth centuries.
