Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy. Mount Sei Busi, just out of the ossuary of Redipuglia, is still a wild waste land, as it was at the beginning of 1900. One can still see the ruins of the Italian and Austrian trenches, that were the theatre of the early battles of the Isonzo. The small distance between the opposite trenches shows that war's anomaly : so near to each other, in some places the soldiers could easily have hit the enemy throwing stones.
