Chertsey Bridge has reopened this weekend after flood waters have subsided sufficiently to allow vehicles to pass across to the Shepperton side safely. The sunshine has brought out walkers on Dumsey Meadow part of the Thames flood plain. After the exceptional levels of rainfall across the UK, the River Thames has burst its banks in many places causing several road closures in Surrey including Chertsey Bridge which was closed for 10 days.
