Log booms. Aerial photograph of log booms on a river. Here, the logs are stored on the water before being processed at a sawmill. The logs arrive at the booms by road or river, and are sorted into sizes and grades. Each boom holds a different size and grade of log. This makes the sawing more efficient. Photographed on the Fraser River, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
