OCEAN (June 21, 2012) Landing craft air cushion approaches the welldeck of the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) to support an equipment offload. Makin Island and Marines assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit are deployed to the 3rd Fleet area of operations.
