Zyvox antibiotic drug. Tablet of the antibiotic drug linezolid, marketed under the name Zyvox. This drug is used for the treatment of serious infections caused by bacteria such as MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), that are resistant to other antibiotics. It is the first member of the oxazolidinone class of antibiotics, which kill Gram-positive bacteria by preventing them from synthesising proteins.
