Artists are in the final stages of decorating giant larger than life ducks in public view at Mann Island, Development on the waterfront. The life ducks are being created as a tourist attraction throughout the city of Liverpool and as a charity fundraiser. The ducks have been painted to commemorate themed on events in history that Liverpool was the first to achieve. Liverpool constructed the first dock in the world, the first lifeboat station, the first school for the deaf, the first rugby club, the first steel ship, the first purpose built football ground, the first hovercraft service, the first cancer research centre, etc. The duck trail opens in time for the Liverpool Light Night when all the city shops open till very late with approximately 200,000 people attending this once a year extravaganza. The ducks will also be in place for the Sound City event where 25,000 music, digital and film followers will arrive in the city. The following week brings the majestic three queens into Liverpool’s port. The Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria will come together for a once in a lifetime meet. An expected audience of over a million people is expected for this great weekend. The following weekend brings the International Mersey River festival with 500,000 people expected. As part of this great weekend the Liverpool Duck Race will enhance the weekend’s entertainment.
