Parade of children carrying wedding gifts, Huanggang Dong Village, Guizhou Province, China
Huanggang Dong Village is another of the ethnic minority villages in Guizhou Province, Southern China. We arrive at the village during a large wedding celebration and the villagers were wearing beautiful ethnic attire. The wedding involved setting off masses of firecrackers and the streets were littered with debris from them and were redolent with the smell of gunpowder and their loud sounds. We were lucky to see a procession of wedding gifts that started with small items carried by the youngest participants and culminated in the gifts of large furniture carried by the young men.
