15, RAF Typhoons in a special "70" formation fly over Admiralty Arch, Trafalgar Square, at the start of the Mall, heading towards Buckingham Palace, as part of the Fly-past for the Queens Platinum Jubilee Celebrations on 2nd of June 2022
The Queen was left pleasantly surprised as a formation of RAF typhoons composed themselves into a 70 position, to mark her Majesty's 70-year reign on the throne. Her Majesty and members of the Royal Family were in awe of the formation and were spotted clapping at the spectacle. The Royal Family took to the balcony, following the Trooping the Colour parade to watch the flypast and to welcome and wave to fans. The flypast featured a variety of aircraft ranging from the 20th century to the present day. A whirr of Royal Navy Wildcat helicopters appeared in the skies, ahead of the flypast, signalling its imminent start. The Ministry of Defence said more than 70 aircrafts, including those used by the UK Armed Forces on operations around the world, partook in the display. They were followed by a succession of historic aircraft such as Spitfire, Hurricane, Lancaster,, Voyager, Typhoon and Hawk T1.
