A jubliant Galen Rupp celebrates as he hits the tape to win the 2017 Chicago Marathon. Rupp's victory at the 40th running of the Chicago Marathon was historic as he became the first American men's winner at the event since 2002 when Khalid Khannouchi took the title. Holding the finish line tape facing Rupp is Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanual. The Chicago Marathon is one of the world's six major marathon events annually joining the Boston, London, Berlin Tokyo and New York races.
