Galapagos sea lions (Zalophus wollebacki) on a beach. Sea lions, a type of seal, are marine mammals. They are distinguished from other seals by the presence of external ear pinnae or flaps. Galapagos sea lions feed on sardines in the waters around the Galapagos, resting on land where they sunbathe and breed. Photographed in the Galapagos Islands.
