East Lyng, Somerset, UK. 9th Feb, 2014. Heavy flooding in the village of East Lyng on the Somerset Levels taken 9th February 2014. This panorama taken from the top of St. Bartholomew's church shows the village nearly surrounded by water. The A361 remains closed towards Burrowbridge and a severe flood alert remains in the area where there is a danger to life. Water is rising rapidly in the East of the village and has started to flood some houses. Some residents have been asked to evacuate but have decided to stay. This is the worst flood on the Somerset Levels in living history.
