An Italian rapier, circa 1700. A thrusting blade with a diamond shaped cross-section and a fuller on each side inscribed, "TOMASO AIALA - EN TOLEDO". The guard plate perforated in the shape of a cross with S-shaped, bent and chiselled quillons. Fine wire grip cover with braided ferrules. The iron pommel is chiselled spirally. Length 100 cm.
