Galloway—by the United States RailroadAdministration as Federal Managers oflines east and west, respectively, is asource of gratification to officials and em-ployes of the Company and has causedmuch favorable comment by the press ofthe country. Mr. Thompson is Federal Manager ofthe Baltimore and Ohio in the AlleghenyDistrict, his jurisdiction extending overthe lines east. He assumed his newduties on June 1. A further honor wasgiven him on June 11 when the WesternMaryland Railway and Cumberland Val-ley Railroad were placed under his direc-tion. Mr. Galloways jurisdiction coversthe western lines of the Baltimore andOhio and also the Dayton and UnionRailroad. Before taking up their duties with theUnited States Railroad Administration,Mr. Thompson and Mr. Galloway re-sign
