In addition to the ten companies of men enlisting in theCounty of Cumberland there was a large number of youngmen desirous of service in the Union Army, anxious to takeactive part in the war for the suppression of the rebellion,who left their homes early in 1861 and enlisted in othercompanies from other sections of the State then this patriotic number were a group of five youngmen from Cedarville. Fairfield Township. They enrolledtlicmselves in Company H, Seventh New Jersey Regiment.
