(Type, skin and skull, in the American Museum of Natural History.) Geographical range.*—This species inhabits the Tamaulipan Trop- ical Tract, in southern Texas, where it has been found, along the Gulf of Mexico, in the strip of country extending from Rockporl to Brownsville. Description (based on seven topotypes).—Upper surface dusky grayish-brown, suffused with fawn color, which is strongesl on the sides; under parts pure white in winter, grayish white in summer;.
